The Heist

The Heist is a rarely repeated problem that will catch any boulderer’s eye. This 30 foot, 30° wall with an immaculate seam is one of the best boulders in the state.

Begin sitting all the way down and right in the huge slot. Increasingly difficult climbing in the left-rising seam leads to a difficult crux and very crimpy climbing high in the slot. Finish high on jugs.

This climb is about 20 moves long and covers 30 feet of wall, all of which follows the steep slot making at least 10 pads pretty much mandatory. Even so, this is one of Colorado’s best boulders and an approach of 5m makes it easily accessible.

At the bottom of the West Ridge, 50 yards downstream from Milton Boulder, there is a massive and obvious slot across the river. In the middle of the slot, a beautiful seam climbs left and up.

Lots of pads. It isn’t R if you have at least 10 - otherwise it is pretty dangerous.
